Relief to Musahar to celebrate Jitia by Sapana Village
Chitwan: Relief has been provided to the Musahar community in Sauraha on Wednesday due to the Corona epidemic. Sapana Village Social Impact Sauraha has distributed relief to 42 families including 41 Musahar and one potter in Ratnanagar-7, Malpur.
Chairman of Impact, Dhruba Giri, said that relief has been provided to the Musahar community who are facing problems in earning a living. He said that the relief was provided on the basis of a written request from the ward office Ratnanagar Municipality -7.
Relief has been distributed by maintaining social distance. Sapana Village provided 20 kg of rice, 1 kg of Lentil beans, 1 kg of salt, Dried soybean and 1 liter of Vegetable oil per family, said Sujan Basnet, program director of Impact. He informed that two masks were also distributed per family. Giri handed over the relief in the presence of ward-7 member Bhaganti Majhi.
Sapna Village has been providing relief to the poor community who have been facing problems due to the government’s Lock down on corona control for the past six months.
Sapana Food Bank has been established and relief has been distributed to the needy communities of Ratnanagar, Khairhani and Ichchakamana. Working in collaboration with the local government .
Sapana Village is working for the socio-economic development of the Chepang community in Chitwan and for the construction of housing for the deprived community.
It has planned to start income generating activities to raise the living standard of the Musahar community.
Giri said that there is a plan to form a women group from the Musahar community and train and involve them in vegetable farming for their economic empowerment. The relief distribution program was facilitated by Anil Aryal, Project Officer, Impact.
