Chitwan Police Activism: Night Vehicle Check Intensified to Reduce Accidents (Video)
Chitwan : Chitwan Police has intensified night checks to reduce road accidents in the district.
The campaign, which was halted due to the bandh, was resumed as soon as the bandh was lifted.
Chief Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Chitwan, Nanti Raj Gurung informed that the night safety check has been intensified by implementing the road safety check action plan jointly to make the night check effective and result-oriented.
At the joint initiative of the District Police Office, Chitwan and the District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, the Traffic Police and the District Police had started night vehicle inspection on January 4 last year by implementing the Road Safety Joint Inspection Action Plan, 2076 BS. Chief of Police Gurung said, “Police is working with various action plans to reduce road accidents from traffic management. The investigation has been tightened as it has been found that there was more human casualty in the accidents that took place at night.”
He also said that he was deployed in the field during the investigation. According to the Chitwan Traffic Police, a joint road safety action plan has been brought to reduce the number of accidents in Chitwan, which is located in the central part of the country.
Chief Inspector at the District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, Dayakrishna Bhatta said that the Chitwan Traffic Police has started a driver awareness campaign considering the possible accidents at night on the main highways and access roads of the district.
Chief Inspector at the District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, Bhatta said that the checks would be carried out at Narayangadh-Muglin Road and Narayangadh-Lothar Road from 7 to 12 at night.
According to him, the accidents that took place at night have caused more human casualties and accidents due to negligence of the driver, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, long distance driving by the same driver.
According to Bhatta, the number of accidents during the night has increased in the past and the investigation has been tightened at night. Stating that it is being tightened at night to reduce it, Bhatta said, “Incidents like measured driving at night, driver falling asleep, speeding and violating traffic rules are increasing.” Stating that the accident rate will come down after the implementation of the action plan in coordination with the District Police Office, Chitwan, Bhatta said that an awareness program is also being conducted in the district.
